There will be 2 individual races going on, the 27kg race, the 15kg race and the team event.

The individual races will start at the bottom of the hill and finish at the top along the concrete path. The team relay event (4 people) will start at the bottom and go Up, Down, Up, Down to finish at the bottom.

You will be starting off in pairs, unless there is odd numbers.

When all individual and team races have been finished then the finals (top 2 times) for each race will begin.

Its roughly 250m in length and 33m in ascent, you will be carrying a weight of your choice.

There will be 4 weights of each size onsite. You will be asked to carry your weight down to the start from the top of the hill before you race – this is a safety check to make sure you are capable of carrying that weight. If there are competitors ascending please stand to the side of the path with enough time before they approach so as not to distract them. When it is your turn, you will get to the top and drop the bag over the line and the next competitors will carry the weight down.

Race rules..
The weights will be put on the floor before the start line so you have to pick them up before carrying them.
If you need to stop before you get to the top get the weight on the floor, a marshal will not be far to take the weight back to the top, this will be recorded as a ‘Did not finish’.
If the weight touches the floor and/or you pause to catch breath more than twice, your race it will be recorded as a ‘Did not finish’.
You have to stick to the boundaries of the path, no deviations on the grass.
Do not use the benches.
Your race finishes when you cross the line with the weight. Don’t drop or throw the weight before you get across the line.

Judges decisions are final.
